I've upgraded the hard drive on my macbook and now have an extra hard drive.

I've heard about people removing the optical drive on their mac minis and adding a 2nd hard drive to their mac minis.

Can anything provide a link to a tutorial on how to do this and maybe some things I need to know before even attempting something like this? Is this even possible? What are the benefits?

In the thread title it says Core Duo. So presuming thats right, its an early 2006 or late 2006.

To the OP:
Check this out: http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Installing-Mac-mini-Model-A1176-Optical-Drive/1105/1
It shows you what you need and how to replace the optical drive in a early, late 2006, and 2007 models. If you instead of putting in an optical drive put in the caddy from the first answer with the HDD, i think it should work.

I wouldn't want to do RAID in a mini that doesn't use SATA for connecting the optical drive. Using RAID could slow things down.
