Let's say that I upgrade the RAM on the lower version of the new Mac Mini (to 2gb)... would the graphics ram go up to 256? I mean, it costs 789.99 CDN as opposed to 949.99 CDN. Kinda makes it worthwhile.

I was wondering that myself. Given Apple's history, I'm pretty certain that vRAM size is a firmware issue, thus you'll be stuck at 128 mb vRAM for the lower-end Mini, while the upper-end will give you 256 mb vRAM. That would be too bad, because one could buy the low-end and install their own 4 gb RAM and a 500 gb hard drive for less than the cost of the upper-end Mini.

So says Apple, so say we all.

Can someone tell me the real-world difference between the 128 mb vRAM v. the 256 mb vRAM? I'm very interested in purchasing the lower end mini (maybe upgrading the processor), and then buying my own 4gb of memory & a bigger hard drive perhaps. If I'm not a big gamer, am I going to be missing out on anything by trying to configure mine this way?

Also, since I've never upgraded my own memory before, can someone point out the exact 2x2gb sticks I'm going to need from crucial (if that is indeed the way to go) in order to max it out at 4gb? I'm a little confused by some of the specs on their website and could use a hand. I appreciate any help.
