RAM Configuration in New iMac 27

I am interested in buying a new 27 inch iMac, but speccing Apple RAM is super expensive.

Does the 8GB minimum come in a 2x4GB configuration, or a 4x2GB configuration? Trying to decide how to order it, and additional RAM.
