Looking to get some ram for my Mac Pro 1.1 and wondering if one brand is recommended over the other?
I can get Elpida, Samsung, Infineon or Hynix 4x2GB sticks for around the same price give or take.
Thanks in advance for comments and recommendations.

Doesn't matter. FB-DIMMs are built to specifications, its not like in the consumer market where some might be better than others. Although make sure you are buying DIMMs with heatsinks on.

Good to know. Thanks. I'm going with the Elpida since it has sexy black heatspreaders!

Also remember that Mac Pro DRAM has ECC, which means it can detect and automatically correct the vast majority of errors.

So, unless you're buying ultra-cheap "floor sweepings", the quality of memory matters less in a Mac Pro than in any other Mac. Just stick with a reputable supplier.
