That seems fine to me. You can probably do a bit better pricewise through Crucial... they have 8GB kit for $93.
 
There's already a ton of threads on this very subject with links to all kinds of ram.
All ram is pretty much the same. Performance is whatever the imac supports. DDR3 1333mhz SO-Dimm. Just find some and get it.

I think I'll go for the Corsair RAM. What about the 2x2GB of standard Apple RAM. I'll have to take them out and insert my 2x4GB instead? 2x2GB+2x4GB will not work - correct?

2x2GB stock + the 2X4GB corsair will work just fine.
 
Ordered my first ever iMac yesterday, 27'' top bto, with i7, and 2gig graphics. Cannot wait.

I have spare ram from one of my macbooks, 2x 2GB modules, but they are 1033?, would they be compatable?
