I used Samsung RAM sticks in my two minis (8 GB in each mini). They have not given me any problems.

Apple use Samsung?

Personally, I use Crucial or Kingston; they're easier to get where I live. As far as I know, Apple themselves use Samsung in the computers they sell which is kind of peculiar given the legal battles they've had with Samsung.

my 2011 came with hynix:

the 2011 minis are very tolerant of ram brands. In no order all of these work:

Samsung

kingston

gskill

(crucial/micron) same company

pny

I have used all of the above in 2011 minis all work. Corsair works I have also used it but a lot of people on this forum have had trouble with it.

I go by price and in the usa gSkill has had good prices and good results for me. More then 50 pairs all good but one.

Hynix and samsung are pretty much the stock parts in base 2011 minis.

Have Mushkin in mine (see sig for exact type) and no problems. The chips on the sticks are Micron.

Usually my Mini is actually using "only" up to 4 GB ram.
