CanadaRAM has guaranteed generic RAM for the MacBook for CD$140 or CD$269 for 2 x 1 GB sticks. They are a terrific vendor...Trevor from CanadaRAM has been one of the most helpful members on these forums, though he's currently on hiatus.

Thanks! Cheaper than what I was looking at, I know it will work for sure and thanks for the fast reply as well. :)

Any reason not to use Crucial (who ship to Canada as well and are offering the same price)?

Because Crucial employs unsavory business practices that I refuse to support. For an eye-opening education, see this thread...

I got 2GB for US$170 included S/H from Powerlinememory.com so far so good, keep in mind that my MB is running almost 24x7 in clamshell mode.

I'm fairly new to buying ram...is their any performance difference between buying generic versus the name brands? I'd think not but better check! :) I don't want to gimp a brand new macbook (talk about a tragedy!)

Very interesting... I clicked through to OWC & DMS from the other thread and their prices are way better, anyone have any experience ordering from them to Canada?

CanadaRAM is the best in my experience.

They are prompt, reasonably priced and the guy who runs it is a well-liked member of MR.
