Ram From MBP into a MB? Good? Bad?

I am going to upgrade to 2gb in my MBP and want to use the 512 in my girlfriends Macbook. Will this be a problem? Do I need to do anything to ensure a smooth transition?

I got these crucial sticks from Newegg. Infact, I got 3 pairs for 3 macbooks and all work perfectly. I'd do the same for a macbook pro if I were so inclined (already have 2Gigs, so..). The required specs are the same, so your old memory should work in hers, and the memory that I mentioned above should work for you. Enjoy, whichever which way you go.

No doubt whatsoever: you are absolutely correct. MacBook RAM is completely interchangeable with MBP---and iMac, for that matter. I've done this many, many times.

Edit: Sorry, Eraserhead---didn't read your post carefully enough. In any event, for the OP: without a doubt, MB<-->MBP RAM swap is fine.

True. Unless hers had 2x256 which the lower models had once.

I think a better idea for you is: upgrade MBP to 2GB, and use the MB of your girlfriend yourself while giving that MBP to her.

She has a Intel Core Duo. It came with 512mb of ram. I can only assume that like mine, It came with 1 512 chip. If not she will have 760mb.

Not a safe assumption, since the regular Core Duo MacBooks shipped standard with 2x256MB.
