I have an 07 2Ghz 20 inch intel iMac.

I ordered http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820134671

but when I installed it the computer booted (i heard the fans start up) but the screen stayed black. When i put the original ram back in everything went back to normal. Is the RAM defective? Did I order the wrong type? Do I need to do something else?

Thanks for your help

Actually underclocking higher speed RAM should theoretically work, as long as the other parameters are equal. It's when you try to overclock slow RAM that you run into problems.
