Does anyone know what may be going on. I have 10GB (4x 2GB and 2x 1GB) and since updating to Yosemite I intermittently see 'error' on the same 2GB module in 'About my Mac'.

However I have not noticed any unusual issues with my Mac Pro 3,1. I just see this 'error' intermittently when I check in 'About my Mac'. On other days it shows that all the modules are ok.

I have done Memtest in single user mode and it's all fine.

Do you think the memory module is faulty or just a Yosemite issue? I have found another thread with this issue but it's not really informative

Memtest generally does not find errors with FB-DIMMs or ECC memory.

FB-DIMMs fail usually from heat and stress, going hot-cool-hot again over time.

Ideal in a 2008 is to fill all 8 DIMM slots. Even if 667MHz (tend to be cheaper and run cool). You can find Mac Pro FB-DIMMs on ebay or Amazon, and Amazon have been excellent quality - mine stay a nice 59*C.

Errors may be correctable, but you could result in "garbage out" too.
