I bought a 2GB third party ram module for my 2.16ghz c2d white iMac to give me a nice maxed out 3GB since I do video on it. Installation seemed fine and easy, although the RAM was a little tight going in, but the ram seems to be bad as I am getting many kernal panics and was not prior to ram install.
Only one way to find out, remove the new RAM, right? Well, not so fast. Because the ram was pretty snug going in, the levers for the ram slots will not remove the new ram when I pull them (the other 1GB comes out no problem though!). I can't seem to get a grip with my fingers, and pliers are definitely out of the question. Is there another way I'm missing? Perhaps it's accessible if you undo the housing behind the display? I have a feeling that would void the warranty and it has two years of applecare left.
