I'm wondering what ram I should get for a g3 900 mhz computer with 384 mb ram (128 built in and 256 in the module) to max it out?

Where should I buy this ram?

Also is the ram reusuable for the next gen ibooks if I decide to buy one?

Crucial RAM is the preferred brand around here. YOu can go to crucial.com and play around with their memory configurator.

Then go to newegg.com and buy it from them for less.

Can never have too many RAM threads, I always say

How many RAM thread do we need? Can we put the word RAM in the language filter?

Macs are picky about RAM. Buy from a place that will guarantee it to work with a Mac. I like datamem.com. crucial.com is very good too. Both have services on their website that allow you to pick the correct RAM for your system. No, you cannot use the same RAM in a new iBook. A 512 stick will max out your current system.

If I can find a suitable 512 mb stick for less than 100 dollars then I might reconsider.
As I posted before, check out datamem.com It is $98 there. You won't find it for new much cheaper. And it will be worth upgrading. You will notice a speed increase on certain things.

Well I posted the link so I'm asking if you would trust the seller.

I trust the seller but I never used Ebay before.
Well really: How would we know whether the seller is trustworthy?? It's like, --- a guy --- and he's got 18 feedbacks --- and -- one of them was bad. And there won't be a warranty.

You want a RAM module for a G3 iBook for under $100. Great, here

$98, new, lifetime warranty, from the same reputable seller Data Memory Systems recommended about 6 posts ago.

Why #$&^ around with eBay at all?

Are we sure this is the right ram for ibook 900 mhz g3 computer?

DM50 136 512MB LP 1.15" 144 Pin PC100 64x64 SDRAM (32x8 MBGA) SODIMM 1 $98.00 $98.00

Cause I checked at another site and it said:
512MB SDRAM PC133

I also double confirmed with the ram installed in my comp right now and it said the same thing.

I'm really worried that the ram shipped will be incompatible.

I'm pretty sure that it uses PC100. But PC133 is exactly the same, but with a slightly higher clock speed. Your iBook will clock the PC133 down to PC100.

Will it decrease performance dramtically cause that is a 33% increase?
Holy smokes... you sure do have a lot of questions.

No. The iBook runs all RAM at 100 MHz. The fact that you can install 133 MHz-capable RAM which the iBook will run at 100 MHz does not imply any performance degradation at all.

The Mac sets the speed it runs memory at, not the RAM chip.

Bottom line: you have been recommended a good Mac memory seller. When they say it will work in your model, you can pretty much rely on their advice.

If you don't believe them, then you could go to http://www.macsales.com or http://www.crucial.com who are both reputable sellers and favorites of some members here.
