I've got a 2008 Mac Pro. I can't use Apple Hardware Test because I've switched out my GPU for a regular non-Apple one, and its graphics drivers don't seem to support it. I've come across Remember, a GUI front-end for memtest. Does this do the same thing as the AHT RAM test? If not, is there something else that does?

You should use memtest straight from a boot disk. If you use memtest in OS X, it cannot check any of the memory that's in use, which is a very significant chuck of your memory.

I know setting up a boot disk is extra work, but if you're going out of your way to test your memory you might as well test all of it.
