RAM Upgrade - 2 8GB vs 1 16GB + 1 4GB?

I am going to upgrade the RAM in my new Mini. Any reason to get a 2 8GB Modules upgrade kit vs getting a single 16GB module and keep in one of the 4GB modules for a total of 20GB?
Eventually I will get another 16GB module when the prices fall and have a total of 32GB.

I realize I will lose the Dual Channel RAM but from what I have read that the performance difference is imperceivable outside of benchmarks.

Thoughts?

There is a thread on here somewhere that demonstrates a GPU performance hit when not running in dual channel. Have a search.
Whether this really matters to you, is down to your own workflow.
