Ram upgrade from 2x512mb, So why is this the case?

Do you think when apple releases the new;) mbp's the ram will be the same to upgrade as the iMac or does the iMac use a different type on ram?!
 
No, the RAM is exactly the same. I think there are two reasons, the first being that the prices for the MBP were set longer ago, and Apple are famous for not dropping the prices of upgrades. Also, if you're looking at the lower end MBP, that only comes with 512Mb as standard.

the lowend mbp cost £350 to upgrade!
