I have an iMac I bought 3-4 years ago (I think) and 1gb of RAM is just not enough for me. Is it easy and cheap (under $100) to replace or upgrade the RAM? My mom doesn't want me to break it and if I did, I'd never make it past middle school. Anyone got an easy guide that a computer savy 12 year-old can use quick and easy.

If its a G5 iMac, no its not that easy (I believe of the sticks is hidden and 1 is accessible). The Intel mac shouldn't be an issue. Please check your "About this Mac" / System Profiler and report back with the model number.
