if some1 can tell me about the warranty then i can try to see if this would work. any1 know about the warranty?

does any1 know if take the cover off the mac mini to upgrade the ram will it void the warranty?

I was going to answer your question until I saw your multiple replies that were placed in rapid succession. That's really annoying.

Try searching instead.

thats about as childish a grown adult can get.

Exactly!

Telling people to go search when an answer can be given in an instant is annoying. This is a message board, once you tell someone to go do a search, then this place stops being a message board.

I wouldn't have posted what that guy posted, but I can understand why he did it. Some people are not appreciative, expect too much, and/or are disrespectful of the free advice they get. That's going to make some people angry.

Looks guys, what annoyed me was that he every couple of minutes he kept saying:

"does anyone have an answer yet?"
"does anyone have an answer yet?"
"does anyone have an answer yet?"
"does anyone have an answer yet?"

I was in the middle of researching and composing a well-thought out response to help him when I noticed he kept doing this. Why would I take 20 minutes out of my Saturday to do this? Simply to help someone. But when someone keeps asking every 10 minutes, and before you can give them a good solid answer, it's annoying.

Except, that's exactly one of the things we agree to in the first place. Plus, on just about every discussion of the mini, folks jump in with the "it'll void your warrantee"

I'd say not searching is the bigger annoyance.

Sure, it's doable. They both use PC3-8500 DDR3 1066MHz SO-DIMMs. Is your iMac an Early 2009, not the new ones? Wasn't exactly sure about "mid 2009 imac". Anyway, yes, the Early 2009 models take up to 8 GB (2x4 GB), and your Mini will accept the iMacs original 2x2GB sticks. It's going to be tricky, though. You will have to go all the way to Step 10 in iFixit's teardown.

"The standard quick pry with the fingers (and subsequent pull) frees the RAM from the logic board."
