This is after a restart with nothing open. There are a few lightweight things running like Bartender, FreeSpace, Flux, dropbox etc but nothing one would assume to be terribly RAM consuming. I know the pressure is low, but the usage is nigh on my 8GIG total.

Just optimisation issues? Or is there something I've done?

Keep in mind that Mavericks (and therefor Yosemite) will attempt to cache as many things to RAM as it can. This works to help things launch/work faster since they are already cached and don't need to be fetched from the HD/SSD.

If your pressure is low (like yours) and you aren't seeing much compression or swap, I wouldn't really worry about it too much.

Also keep in mind this is still a beta. On one of my machines the usage was around 6.5-7GB (usually what I see in Mavericks as well) and on another machine it was hitting my 8GB limit and starting to compress/swap.

Yeah, I primarily assumed DP being the core issue in regards to this.

Appreciate the reply. Thanks.
