I'm looking to upgrade the RAM in my 2.16Ghz white iMac, which currently just has the default 1GB (2x512MB).
Which combination do you think would be better?

(2 GB) + (512 MB) = 2.5GB

or

(1 GB) + (1 GB) = 2GB as a matching pair

Or do you think there'll be very little noticeable difference?
(I mostly use Photoshop and Illustrator)

TIA :)

First off, you get what you can afford. That being said, matched pairs are better. Of course 2x2 would be best if your Mac can use that amount.
