Into the lungs of Hell
So, I am using C3-10600 (1333MHz) DDR3 204-pin SO-DIMM RAM - 4GB in 2 slots.

Q1. Can I extend my RAM such that I have the following setup:

2 + 2 + 4 + 4 = 12GB RAM, utilizing all 4 slots.

Q2. Can I buy the RAM off of ebay? I live in the UK; some one suggest me how to buy this RAM. I have never upgraded/opened my mac ever. Kinda newbie in assembling tinkering with computers.

A1: Yes.
A2: Yes.

Opening the iMac for upgrading the RAM is very easy. Either look into the User Guide (support.apple.com/manuals) or at iFixIt.

I would recommend buying from crucial

http://www.crucial.com/uk

They have free delivery to UK customers and also have a utility to check your computer and display the correct RAM you need to buy.

OWC are good as well.

Note if I am not mistaken if you plan to add 16GB (4 x 4GB) all your RAM sticks should be either Samsung or Hynix. RAM bought from Crucial or OWC could cause a problem.

Wow. I didn't realize installing new RAM was this easy!

When I purchase the 2011 refreshed iMac, I may purchase more RAM and install on my own as well.

Thanks for the thread.
