i've read several posts about RAM and how you should DIY to save money instead of having apple do it.

my plan is to end up with 1.5mb in my new imac (512 stock and 1gig added myself). crucial has a 1gig stick for $184.00:eek:. is this a competitive price for 1gig of ram? i read in a previous post that they've seen it for around $100, but i've yet to see any for that price...maybe i'm looking in the wrong place so far.

IMO, you'll get the best mix of price, quality, and service from datamem.com.

EDIT: beaten by iGary. Man, I must be slow. :p

Great minds think alike. :D

The last PB RAM I got from datamem was from Germany of all places and was the most nicely manufactured SODIMM I have every seen.

I got two 1gb strips of Cosair from Newegg for $89 a piece for my new MBP. I have never had any trouble with Cosair or Newegg.
