Sounds obvious, but could someone have been using your computer? Alternatively, could you have them set to open at certain times via AppleScript, iCal or Open At Login? :)

Leave an application up or opened for that matter put yout system to sleep and I am willing to bet you that it will be there when you wake it. I am willing to bet that you were working with excel the night prior and forgot about it or just like the other person said someone is using your imac during the night

Perhaps it's time to put a password on your screensaver or FUS to the login window when you leave your computer.

An alternate possibility is...well...dissociative identity disorder? :D

This happened to me recently. A Safari window was open to a rather revealing picture of Keeley Hazel (sic?) and my wife was most perturbed. I told her it must have been a bug in 10.4.7, but I don't think she believed me.

i know no one is using my mac. all of my family uses windows. this didnt happen today either.. weird
