iPhone 8/Plus Random black screen

Hey guys my iPhone 8+ got randomly hot when I was on whatsapp last night then there was a black screen and it got super hot and won't turn on at all now. I tried charging it but nothing works. Thankfully my friend is going to America this week so I would ask her to check it out at an Apple Store. I was wondering what documentation would she need if she was to go there with MY phone requesting a replacement? The phone is still under warranty and I have the serial number
Please help

Was it hot to the touch as in it could burn you? Try doing a hard reset by:

Press volume up button & release
Press volume down button & release
Press & hold side button until Apple logo appears

Hey I tried doing this like the night when the black screen appeared. However, the screen got even more hot! like it was going to explode. the amount of heat is hot enough to burn. so I left it to cool down afterwards and the following day I tried doing this reset as you instructed once more. Howveer, nothing came up no black screen with led light behind or anything. phone seems like its 110% dead. tried charging it and then doing a reset but still its just dead :/

Sounds like it's time to contact Apple about it.

Yeah definitely contact Apple.
