First post so hello to all.

2 weeks ago I installed SP1 on a Macbook 2,1 and since then I'm experiencing random blank screens. Everything else seems to be running fine while the screen is blank. The only way to see windows again is to close the lid into sleep mode then reopen and log in. However sometimes the laptop will not sleep and i need to hard restart. i wont be able to use this fix when i DJ live with the laptop as i'll lose audio when in sleep mode or hard restarting. The actual blank screen does not seem to be connected to any program as i've uninstalled everything new and old to try and figure the cause. The problem happens at random when using or not using the laptop.

Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

Then, as I suspected, Vista is your problem. You might be better finding a Microsoft/Vista forum in which to express your issues.

Not just Vista!

Hello,
first of all a warm welcome to the community here - since I got my first Mac 2 years ago you guys (and gals) have been a great help in many circumstances!

Just wanted to add to what soulflexin was saying: I've got a white MacBook (the 'non-unibody' one) running under XP SP3 and right from the beginning I was experiencing similar issues. The problem only occurs when using the battery; sooner or later the screen goes blank despite plenty of juice left in the battery. I have my power button configured to hibernate my mac - if I hibernate and then power up again (effectively restoring system and apps to the old state) screen wakes up. (This is similar to soulflexin's putting it to sleep.)

Has anyone else experienced something along these lines? soulflexin have you found a fix for this perhaps? It is quite annoying a problem as you never know how long you can run on battery: could be 1min or 1h, and so I've switched to using AC only for now.

I'm using latest drivers from Intel website (14.32.4.4926) and Bootcamp 2.
