Hello, I am eagerly awaiting the UK iPad launch and have a few questions that I think might help me and maybe other non US purchasers next month, apologies for any duplicate questions.

Is multi-tasking definitely coming in the 4.0 firmware? I have been looking to find this in actual writing from an Apple source but all I have found is the vague disclaimer on the apple site that says:

"iPhone OS 4 will work with iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and the second- and third-generation iPod touch this summer, and with iPad in the autumn. Not all features are compatible with all devices. For example, multitasking is available only with iPhone 3GS and the third-generation iPod touch (32GB and 64GB models from late 2009)."

Do the apple earphones with remote work with the iPad? Can you control the iTunes app through the remote control on the wire?

Have apple said they will fix the problem with some routers not working properly with the iPad in a future firmware update? Or will I just have to get a new router if it doesn't work?

Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for any answers!

(Also I would be really grateful if somebody would just check my website (in my sig) on the iPad to check that the menu's are all in the proper places and havent jumped in front of pictures etc... I use iWeb so it is always a worry what on earth it will look like on various devices!)

Wow, good point, in a sneaky way of words that could mean the iPad will not multitask in 4.0. However since it has the same amount of RAM as a 3GS and 2x CPU speed, I don't see why they wouldn't.

The wifi problem is NOT solved by buying a new router. I have 7 wireless devices in my home that work flawlessly and because an iPad won't, my router is not the issue. It is either a software or hardware problem with the iPad, you should not buy a new router for this issue, period.

I do believe Jobs said in his keynote that 4.0 would come to the ipad this fall, NOT summer. I'm sure they want to tweak it to work on the ipad.

I find the iPad does a fantastic job remembering where you are/were between exiting and entering apps, using the home button and touch screens to togggle. I was doing a ton of cut and pasting of names between safari searches and the app store, looking for new apps. I did a search in safari for app names, hit home to exit and touched app store to enter. Going back and forth was pretty quick and snappy.

Thanks for the answers, glad the remote control earphones work. It is a good point about the router issue as well, it is up to the iPad to work not for us to have to alter our set ups.

Thanks
