Upgraded to 10.15 yesterday and now my macbook freezes and restarts randomly (2-3 times a day)

Sometimes there is a long error log but now I'm just seeing this with no details provided.

```
BAD MAGIC! (flag set in iBoot panic header), no macOS panic log available
```

I'm wondering if anyone else here is having the same problem?
This is the most catastrophic upgrade I've ever seen 😩

I’m having same issue. MBP15 2019 with Vega discrete set to run all the time. Two USB-C external monitors. It does let me report issue to Apple after it happens. Something about a panic and a windowserver. I’ll post back if I figure it out.

Yea, I just had a different problem. I left my mac in clamshell mode for like an hour, but when I came back it just wouldn't turn on no matter what key combinations I tried. I disconnected everything and reconnected my charger then it was just showing the low power icon and refused to turn on for 10minutes.

Maybe the charger got loose or something was wrong with the (stock) cable, but I'm pretty sure the battery was 100% when I left it - I work on external monitors as well so if the power got cut-off the mac should go to sleep right away, which wasn't the case.

I wasn't running anything intensive either, not sure how / why it drained all the power within an hour...this is so frustrating.

I’ve been able to recreate in clamshell and open, I’ve disabled sleep, running parallels and AutoCAD one time, then another was just Mail and Word, no Parallels, might boot to Safe mode and see if it happens

It hasn't happened since I turned off my Vega discrete graphics card. I've been plugged in to my external monitors all day and no issues. I'm going to try turning the Vega back on and see if I can recreate the issue.

That's odd. I suspect it is somehow related to the graphic card. It seems my mac only shuts down when I disconnect it from external monitors or trying to wake it up when in clamshell mode.

It's happening again. It's definitely related to the laptop in clamshell mode hooked up to external monitors either when the screen saver comes on or some sort of energy saver kicks in. This is true whether or not the Vega 20 is turned on. I turned off Screen Saver, Display Off After, selected Prevent Computer from Sleeping, turned off wake for WiFi and turned off Power Nap. I'll let you know if that works. Also going to check for graphic card driver updates.

I haven't experienced it in the past few days however I have been really careful with which cable is pulled first whenever I needed to move the mac. Not sure if it plays a role or not :/

So I fixed my issue that looked like this by removing my Google / mail accounts in System Preferences | Internet Accounts (as well as a rogue-looking 'Contacts' entry in the same list). I've re-added the accounts without the crashes restarting.

And while this seems bizarre (my crashes also appeared GFX related), I arrived at this conclusion logically. I installed a fresh install of Catalina next to my main OS. I couldn't reproduce the crash on the fresh install. I re-added apps and services one at a time and left the machine for a little while after adding each thing. If the OS session was still alive when I returned, that app or service wasn't the issue. The crashing only started when I enabled my Google / mail accounts in that Preferences panel. The crashing only stopped when I deleted them from that list (disabling again didn't help).

It's worth noting that in my case, I was able to reliably reproduce the crash by enabling 'Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off', and setting 'Turn display off after' to 1 min in Energy Saver and just leaving the machine alone. With this configuration the Mac OS session would last at most 10 mins left untouched before Kernel Panic (sometimes just BAD MAGIC, but also some with other errors like the one @BillyMacAttack mentioned).

I've performed the same dance on my main OS (removed the accounts then re-added them), and haven't experienced a KP in about 1 day, even with the aforementioned Energy Saver settings.

I hope this helps somebody.
