Alright, I know everyone has been hearing about these and I started getting them in my MacBook (1.83 basic MacBook). They persisted for about 3 weeks, even after i took the ram out, I could even get into the OS without it shutting down but now its back running again...I dont know what happened. But this really made me mad seeing that I just spent 1200 bucks on a laptop and it wouldnt even stay on.

Get your heat-sink replaced.
I promise it will work!
The Logic Board Replacement will do nothing.

And this is why the heat-sink replacement will work!

Bookshop!
give AppleCare a call, they will give you a case number, and take it to an AppleCenter. I had the same issue with mine, but i got it fixed up, and havent had a problem in ages!

I got my logic board replaced, and it solved the issue. I don't think thats right, because I ran "yes > dev null" for ages and it didn't shut down, but little tasks such as iTunes induced a shutdown.
