Random sites in history on iPad

I went into the history (through bookmarks) on my ipad2 to retrieve a site I visited earlier. I found activity for a site (porn) including a search within said site that I didn't make. Only one other person has access to it and they swear they didn't make it. They admit to being in the site, but not doing the search. Is there any other way it can appear? Yes, I am aware I am probably being lied to. But I need to know for sure that there is or isn't another option. It's not a link that was in the site and it clearly shows the subject search. But is there a chance that the iPad was hacked, or the router, or that the site self searched? From what I can see there is no other suspicious activity.

I believe Safari search history is linked across all devices within the same wifi network that are accessing the same iCloud account. So it sounds like someone with their own iPhone or iPad in the same household (network) could have done this search and it would then appear on your iPad.

It's not linked to another device.

Your device is indirectly linked in Safari to all other devices in the same network using the same iCloud account. Links, browsing history, and open tabs will by synced. That’s the most likely cause as you describe it.

As its not linked to any other devices and the person using the iPad admitted to being on the site, its most likely they did do the search.
