I have noticed my 3TB external Seagate Thunderbolt drive randomly spins up and down after my Mini is asleep. This happens thorougout the night.

I have only found some threads about power management bugs in OSX and the "pmset" command in terminal.

It's like my external drive doesnt want to completely sleep or something is trying to access it.

Anyone else having this issue?

I've the same “problem” under Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) with my FW800 drives. The sleep continues after a few seconds. It is still better than no-sleep function (for example, many eSATA-solutions do not support the OS X sleep functions).
