I have started having random issues with my phone and want to see if anyone has anything to say about it (like if they thinks it hardware/software, or possibly dock related).

In a nutshell, what is happening is random things quit working until I restart the phone. For example, the other day the 'Home' and 'Sleep/Wake' buttons quit waking the phone up. I had to put it on the charging cable to the screen would come on and then shut the phone off. Once it started up again it was fine. Then, yesterday the earpiece quit working. I had to use the phone in speakphone mode to be able to hear callers. Again, I turne the phone off and turned it back on and it was perfectly fine.

The only event that I can link with these really random occurrences is my purchase of a universal dock from Apple. It charges and syncs fine on the dock, the only thing is that I often get the "This device is not made to work with iPhone blah blah blah." I just ignore it and get on with my life. Is it possible that this is causing the problems? I've never used a dock before and am not really familiar with any problems they might cause.

I have the same problem once in a while with my old iPhone (1st GEN) and my new 3G. I don't think it had to do with the dock but the software on the phone. I myself also have the Universal Dock and get the same message.
