Canadian Eh!
Hey,

As the title suggests, ever since I've upgraded to Mountain lion (10.8.2) I have been experiencing random log outs, for not apparent reason my screen will turn grey then log me out back to the main screen.

It seems to happen about once a day, while I am in the middle of something..

Usually the system is under somewhat high load, running Safari, Skype, Mail, Transmission, Steam and VMWare 5

I've seen a similar thread posted on apple support but it pertained to Mac Pro's and dual video cards.

I am on an early 2011 MBP 13"

Is there some type of log file I can view that might shed some light, this is getting very frustrating when I am trying to get work done.

Same issue here...

I got a Mac Mini (Mid 2010) with 5GB RAM (1st slot with 4GB and 2nd with 1GB) that is normally running a SecuritySpy software with 3 active cameras, Transmission, iTunes for HomeSharing and File Sharing, Screen Sharing, Printer Sharing, Scanner Sharing and CD or DVD Sharing also active in sharing preferences in one user while there are another two users that rarely log in. The system is configured to autostart after a power failure and to autolog the main user that runs all those programs and services; also there's a small app made it from a script that ask the system goes to the login window after it loads and finish the boot process.

What it seems to be different is that if I'm personally using the system, it goes flawlessly all the time (even if I push it to the limit) so there is no log outs or any other weird symptom, but if I let the system by it's own and after it launches the screensaver, then put the monitor to sleep and... some time latter, it logs out.

Some more data: I already reconnect and reconfigure every aspect about the monitor, including hooking up two monitors. I also reinstall Mountain Lion from the Recovery partition. Trash out the "com.apple.afpstat.plist" file that seems to have some related issues. Searched miles of data in console looking for clues and nothing seems to help.

Actually, the SecuritySpy app has a very helpful feature that ask for a master password in order to allow the app to quit, so it's now activated and the system cannot logout because of this, but every other program is closed in the attempt and the obvious "the system can't log out" message is shown.

Hope this info means something and any help will be realy appreciated.

Yosemite Random logouts.

I have the same issue as of the most recent update. I've been running the beta Yosemite for a month or so with no problems. Last night after downloading the latest update I began getting random log outs. I'm sure it's not a hardware issue and seems to be related to the Sept 30th update. If this is the Gold release version then I'm going back to Mavericks.

13" Air Mid 2013 8gigs Ram 256 gig HD.
