I've had my iphone 3g for a little over a month now and have been having problems with it for a couple weeks at least. Sometimes it works great but it goes through spells for a few days at a time where it becomes almost completely useless. When I unlock the phone and it goes to the home page it will start clicking on things randomly as if I'm touching the screen, but I'm not. This makes texting almost impossible because while i'm trying to type it clicks on other random letters and buttons. When I'm on the phone and want to hang up, the screen never comes back on when I pull the phone away from my ear, as it normally should. Just a blank screen, and nothing happens when I press the home or sleep/wake buttons. I have to manually restart the phone, which takes a ridiculously long amount of time.
I've reset the phone countless times, removed all apps, and even restored it using iTunes. Which brings me to my next question, I restored the phone as a new phone, and therefore obviously lost my contacts. I backed them up beforehand but I can't figure out how to get them back.
So bottom line is, how do I stop my phone from glitching out, and how do I get my contacts back?
