Rapid clicking noise with sound

Sometimes when I play a song or view something with sound, this rapid clicking is emitted from my computer. It stops when the sound stops. It sort of sounds like the iPod click. But it ranges from slow to very rapid clicks.

What apps is this happening in?

so far iTunes and Safari. I was watching videos on youtube and it just started clicking. Maybe theres something wrong with the speakers? I've heard of speaker popping but i don't know what it is.

Do you happen to have a cell phone near? Some are known to interfere with computer speakers.

hmm my razr is nearby maybe thats the problem.
