I have a question regarding my imac. I have downloaded some old music from back home and its a whole collection. Its split into 6 rar files. My imac cant open them so i tried to download a free version of winrar for mac to open the files but when i download the program it doesnt work or i dont know how to work on it. Basically all that happens is a terminal pops up a small screen and i cant do anything from that point on. I used to run both winzip and winrar on my windows but i made the switch to mac so im stuck. Does anyone know what i can do to open these files or what i can download and where so i can open this stuff.. Thanks!

Try UnRarX or The Unarchiver

wow i just posted 2 min ago. Thanks i will try it thanks for the quick response.

Just for fun, another vote for UnrarX :D I've also used Stuffit, just the free version. It's nice but I feel like UnrarX is more reliable.

The Unarchiver has always worked great as a universal decompressor for me.

This is by far my favorite decompressor, as it supports destination extracts in the setup menu (i.e. always specify where it extracts to), and it supports queuing of extracts. So let's say you need to extract to archives, it will queue them one after the other. And it's free!

I'll have to check that one out! Queuing would be great!
