Rare Cluster Controller found in garage; could someone refer me to an expert for the value?

Hi

I just found a cluster controller in the original box.
It's still sealed and has all the documentation.
When searching for it on the web, I only found that it is rare.
Does anyone know how rare?
Could anyone refer me to an expert for the value of it?

From a cursory search, it sounds like it's one of the rarest Apple products that one could come across. Pretty cool concept behind it too. It's designed to allow Apple II computers to communicate with IBM mainframes.

Cool find! Would be really cool to see one in action. I have an interest in old server/workstation/mainframe hardware.

I am hesitant to open the seal and try it out since I have no clue what the value might be. ?

Ok, got some replies. Sounds like the overall consensus is the following:

$500 to start, and if no one bites then lower it. Also make sure to thoroughly describe it if listing online given the nature of the product.

You're welcome, I'm glad I could be of assistance! I know I would personally hang onto it if I came across one. It would be a neat conversation starter and maybe you could even find a way to demo it with something a little more manageable than an actual IBM mainframe.
