Hello!
I am so sorry if this question has been asked. I am just looking for some quick advise because honestly, all the different plans confuse me. I also feel like the AT&T reps jerk you around!!! I wish I had my beloved cingulair back - they seemed so transparent!
Anyway!!!

We currently have a rate plan that includes:
ONE iphone (husbands) - not this generation but the previous version!
One smartphone without data plan (GOD I HATE MY TREO! BIGGEST. MISTAKE. EVER!)
and
data plan for him
unlimited texting for both
and the 1400 minute plan.

I am eligible for an IPHONE upgrade and want to get the new WHITE 32g model.

Will we just have to add a data plan? Or is there a better plan for us?

Also, another question - I know that when hubby got his phone, there was a big deal about going to the ATT store because the APPLE store was charging like 20 bucks more in unneeded fees. Is this still happening? I live near a APPLE store now.

also - is the APPLECARE worth it? we didn't get it for hubby when we got the iphone, but we have bought it for our macbook and macbook pro

Since you have no data plan now, you will need to add the iPhone data plan at an additional cost of $30/mo. They also advertise a 1400 minute familytalk iPhone plan for $149.99, but be aware that this does not include any texts. Unlimited texting is $30 more.

But that base 149.99 would include the data plans for both?

I thought I saw something come through my ATT bill about two months ago that said you can add a second data plan for 10 bucks a month. Was that a misread on my part? I thought maybe so, because I did come across a few things that said data plans START at 10 bucks a month.
Thanks!

I believe additional non-smart phones are $9.99/mo, but I'm not sure.

The $149.99 FamilyTalk iPhone plan includes 1400 Anytime Minutes, Unlimited Nights & Weekends, Unlimited Mobile to mobile, and Unlimited iPhone Data for two iPhones. Additional iPhone lines are $39.99/mo (up to a total of 5 lines). Unlimited messaging is $30/mo additional for any number of lines (up to a total of 5).

So to get what you have now on two iPhones would be $179.99/mo plus taxes and fees.

not too bad - would be almost exactly 30 bucks more than what i am paying now. so works out OK. i was afraid i would get shanked to have to switch plans again!
