Any fast alternatives to the RavPower Filehub router that provide proper speeds as well as a well rated app?

I am looking for a likewise device to transfer images, files and videos from my external HDDs to my iPad Pro (2018) without the need for a PC.

Speed and a good app are important as some of the files I recorded with my camera are up to 35GB each. :D

The videos I would like to edit in Lumafusion and watch on Infuse, hence it must be possible to transfer them from the app to the above apps.

I have the WD01, WD03, and WD07 versions of the RAVPower Filehub - the WD03 is easily the best of the lot. I have a similar Kingston MobileLite G3 and have found its performance to not be any better than the FileHub. Same for a Seagate wireless HDD. A good device would support high-speed wireless transfers and USB3 (all are currently USB2) as well as an SD card slot. I've looked and looked and not found a good alternative to the FileHub. I think the issue has been the capability to put that technology in a small form factor package with low heat generation and high power efficiency.

I am using a WD MyCloud to transfer video clips to LumaFusion. It's not exactly blazing fast, but works. Very frustrating not to have full read/write access to drives via USB-C. Maybe someday...

It is my understanding that RAVPower will be putting out an update (new h/w) to the WD07, hopefully in January, that addresses some of the issues I had identified in a critical review of the WD07 over on the iPad Accessories forum.

This may be an odd question, but can you plug in an external dvd player to the WD03 filehub and play video on the ipad ?
What is odd about this question; who still uses DVD....... Ha Ha
