Ask Apple. Why did they not include Raw shooting for the iPhone 11Pro?
Why did they not include Raw shooting for the iPhone 11Pro?
And the iPhone 13 Pro/Pro Max will have features the 12 Pro/ Pro Max won't get too. This is nothing new... Every new model phone gets features older phones don't even if hardware wise they are just as capable..Apple has put out two pro iPhones 11 and 12, but they couldn’t include the shooting raw in this last update to be able to use the iPhone 11 Pro? Greedy

At this stage not really. There are several 3rd party apps you can use to shoot RAW on the 11PM.
Which isn’t as convenient as having it in your camera settings...apple says more ram is needed for pro raw and the chip helps with processing this feature up to users if they want to believe that
I am sceptical on Apples claim. Have heard that nonsense before from them.
Been using ProCamera and Lightroom on my 11ProMax for most of this year. It has been working well for me. Got to the point I was using ProCamera as my default camera app.
If I am looking to do something heavier I dump the RAW to my IPP, MB, or PC.
Then again, I am not doing professional work either.
I think you are mixing up RAW (which, you are correct, can be used on earlier model phones) and ProRAW, which is a special variant of DNG/RAW, that keeps the in-phone computational stuff intact while still delivering the ability to edit the full image dataset. With "regular" raw, all you get is the data straight from the sensor; no Deep Fusion or NightMode or image stabilization stuff. At this stage not really. I am however if I need that level of detail/data, RAW is what I want to work with.
Your explanation kind of, I think, goes to why with 14.4 RAW/JPEG on my 12 ProMax look much closer on screen than before. It shifted toward the JPEG side.
I’ll have to let you know how it plays out on my MB or PC.
Time to do some research on ProRAW...
Remember, it’s not how it looks the moment after you depress the shutter that counts, but what you can do with it after the fact that defines the power of RAW. So, yes, it may look more “processed” with ProRAW straight away, but you will have a much greater ability to manipulate it in post.
The best maxim, however is: get it right in camera!

Incorrect. Do you honestly expect every new feature to be ported back to earlier models? If so I have a Model T with CarPlay to sell you.
I would also say the extra power in A14 also helps. Here’s the reasoning from Ben Sandofsky of Halide for ProRAW being in the 12 Pros but not earlier phones (Apple’s “greed” is not mentioned, at least not negatively):

Understanding ProRAW
We make the most popular RAW camera for iPhone, so when Apple revealed their new ProRAW image format, we were beyond excited. Then they announced it’s coming to the built-in camera app. Many developers in our shoes would freak out, thinking Apple wants to gobble up their customers. Weblog.halide.cam

While I understand this reasonng it does not really apply to the 11 ProMax. I can see it applying to the other nonProMax models. 4GB in the 11 ProMax should be plenty for this type of processing I would think.
I think the processor is being factored in more than the amount of RAM.
