I downloaded the Public prerelease beta version of iOS 17 to my iPhone 12 Pro this morning and everything went well. I expected to get a message later today to install the final RC iOS 17 but it states on my iPhone that I already have iOS 17 installed and not the beta. Did Apple download the release candidate when I thought I was downloading a Public Beta? This was at around 8 am CDT.

The RC has been out on the beta program since Tuesday last week so unless you plugged your phone into a computer and downloaded an old version you are already on the final release.

Thank you. I obviously didn't know that and it explains everything. Now my iPhone 12 Pro is running iOS 17 and when my iPhone 15 Pro Max comes Friday both phones will be on the same iOS when I transfer the data with Quick Start from the 12 to the 15.
