Other RCS messaging now available????

I was looking at a recent messaging thread and I noticed something. I was messaging a friend who has an Android device (Samsung). We are both on T-Mobile. I noticed a “Read” receipt on a message I sent to him. Notice the green bubble with “Read” underneath it. Is this RCS support on the iPhone? Is this an iOS 14 feature or an iPhone 12 feature?

Hmm, just checked a text message I received from an Android user (T-Mobile, Note 20), and it does not have that 'read' message...

Did you restore a backup? Some messages from my backup have that so I’m pretty sure it’s a bug.
