RE-2012 macbook Pro

Hello,
Just wondering how much ram can go in a 13" mid-2012 macbook pro? I have read it can hold 16gb...but I also know at Apple.com the maximum is 8gb. So I need to know which is it? 16gb or 8gb?

How did you get the Mac to work with 16gb? I tried to and it wouldn't boot up

Definitely works with 16 GB of low-density Crucial ram in a 2 x 8 configuration.

High-density will not work.

Yes, that should work as it is low-density (8 chips per side).

Update for everyone-I inserted the 16gb ddr3 ram and whalla! It works just fine as told to me! Thank you everyone!!
