With all the "huge" performance gains by 64-bit performance, and great stability of Snow Leopard what's gone wrong? Apple has failed us miserably. Snow Leopard isn't ready for grand master final shipping yet! It's garbage! It's worse than that!
I am almost as disgusted with Apple over Snow Leopard as I was with my original MBA... but that cost me $2k! I really feel like the best place for Snow Leopard right now is THE TRASH CAN! It's not ready for use and definitely not ready for the MBA. What a huge disappointment. Maybe those who have Mac Pros are feeling some gains, but I actually doubt that the more I read about other's experiences. I know of many reverting back to Leopard.
Right now the only advantage of Snow Leopard is the saving of file space from the OS. But even with that people are getting a lot of "imaginary" space due to the way Snow Leopard reports disk space.
I would advise you to do yourself a favor and DUMP Snow Leopard if Apple doesn't fix it by 10.6.2! I plan to dump it if that release isn't out by Thanksgiving.
I am sick of the worthless OS called Snow Leopard, and if Apple doesn't fix ALL of the problems by 10.6.2 I predict huge disappointment and Mac sales declines. This information is spreading all over Mac communities and college campuses. All I hear from Mac users that are huge Mac Junkies is that Apple's OS X Snow Leopard is a complete failure!
People I knew that were waiting for a new iMac are holding off until Apple "fixes" Snow Leopard. Same thing with Mac notebook buyers I know that liked the new MBPs but wanted to wait for SL releases and positive reports. The reports have been anything but positive and if the iMac reports continue as initially reported, Apple will have a PR nightmare.
At the rate Apple is going, they're going to need to provide backwards OS X capabilities for new Mac sales! Just like what Microsoft had to do with Windows XP!
Sorry for ranting about Snow Leopard in your thread, but I really feel like it's currently garbage and we deserve better. Apple SHOULD have put off Snow Leopard's release until it was at least STABLE and functioning properly!
