Hello everyone,

I initially configured my MacBook Pro using Boot Camp creating a 32GB FAT32 partition. I must say that I did experience some difficulties not being able to create the partition ... it would fail specifying exactly 32GB but any size below that did work.

Anyhow, now I realize that I do not have sufficient disk space for all my windows data and programs I need to migrate from my former windows platform.
Therefore, I need to re-partition my disk.

I was thinking about 3 partition if at all possibles:
1-Mac OS + data (remaining disk space from 2 and 3 below)
2-32GB Windows XP install + programs only
3-32GB Data : shared between MacOS and WinXP

Questions:
1-What would be the recommended procedure to do this (partitioning)?
2-Do I have to reload MacOS from scratch?
3-For partition 2 I am thinking NTFS but will MacOs be able to view the files?
4-For partition 3 (data)what is the recommended format for maximum file sharing between MacOS and Windows ?

Thanks for all input
JM

If I remember correctly Boot Camp will only let you create a Windows partition if you don't have any existing partitions on your HD. Then after you create a Boot Camp partition, Disk Utility won't let you create a new partition. I was trying to create 3 partitions for Leopard, Tiger and XP and couldn't get it to work so I think you are gonna have to stick to 2 partitions.

Thanks for that link, I never knew there was a software program that would allow you to resize a Boot Camp partition.

RE-partitioning for OSX/Windows

Hi,

Thanks all for your replies.
I did try iPartition and i will not let me do anything with my current 2 partitions:
MacOs and Windows.

Winclone seems interesting.
I will give it a try.
