Hello there,

Since upgrading my MBA 13'' from Yosemite I am unable to delete a "Previous System Folder" that has been created.

Every time I send this folder to the Trash, a message shows up saying that the operation cannot be completed as the items "vm", "var". "private" are in use and that the operation cannot be completed because some items in the sleep image can't be read or written (error code -36).

Any ideas on how to delete this folder would be appreciated, in order to save GB on my SSD.

Thank you!

Mark.

My best bet is boot to the system other than Mac OS X with the ability to r/w HFS+ partition, and delete them from there. A small boot camp partition (20GB) with Windows installed would be great.
Other than that, you can try to delete them from recovery HD, but I am not sure if it will work.
