Real desktop iMac

Yeah...it is called a Mac Pro! ;-)
Form factor of the iMac makes it tough to use "real" desktop components. Never say never but to keep the iMac looking like an iMac, some notebook components need to be used.

Apparently not. I've been wanting an affordable Mac tower so much and for so long I am going to grind all my Apple products into fine powder, smoke it, and then switch to Dell & Windows XP.
Steve Jobs and many users on this forum think we who would like a cheap Mac tower are crazy and should either be satisfied with a crappy iMac or be willing to fork over a fortune for a MacPro.
Bottom line: Either Steve dictates what hardware you want,
or Bill dictates what software you want.
...wunderful freakin' choice, huh?

Why would you grind up your current Macs because they haven't come out with an "affordable" Mac tower? That sounds pretty stupid to me.
Ok, what exactly do you want to do with your Mac that the low end iMac cannot do?
