Realistic Expectation for 2010 Quad MP resale price?

I am in the process of (trying) to sell my mid-2010 Mac Pro. My pal was telling me I should expect to get 1000 for it (give or take a few bucks).

I don't know, that seems awfully low to me. It is only the 2.8 quad version, but is it really that low for a machine in pristine superficial and operational condition (with the box and all)? I upgraded the ram to 8gb as well.

I just thought I would get more towards the $1650 mark. Am I expecting too much?

Instead, I would pick up a 2009 Quad for $700-800 and add a hex CPU and new GPU to maximize my ROI.
