okay guys, the big talk in macrumors is all about the ipod touch 3G, but we all know the ipod nano needs a renovation too. I been hearing rumors of a possible ipod nano with wi-fi, and a different version of a nano that looks like an ipod touch mini! What do you guys think?

i think the camera and microphone is possible, but mostly for the ipod touch, not ipod nano, i can only see the ipod nano with this new possibilities:

-32 GB
- new frame
-a lil bit more thicker
- possible camera (highly doubt it)
-wi-fi

Well... first of all I want a software in which I can reorder the Home Screen (not adding or deleting items, just reordering them). This soft update could be in a new nano.

A microphone: they are just SO cheap and useful when needed.

Knowing how Apple works: THINNER! LIGHTER! BRIGHTER! CHEAPER!

32 GB (highly doubt it if they want it thinner)

Better battery life as usual.

Ipod App Store (just kidding!)

well wi-fi is internet, with wi-fi you can get internet radio, and you can get the itunes store, but it is possible, but with the camera, i'm just saying if the ipod touch comes out with a camera, then the ipod nano comes out with a camera, so many camera ipod's! i don't know, but it would seem nice.

Wifi would be terrible on a nano. not only is the screen waaay to small but its not touch sensitive which makes internet usable on small screens.

A camera would be a welcome addition although I personally would never use it, thats what my 5D MarkII is for :p

"32 GB (highly doubt it if they want it thinner)" i was little bit confused about this; i have an ipod touch 1st generation 8GB, and there is no difference of size that i can tell, between the 8GB and 32GB!

memory is just like a microchip, it's a thin piece of software, i just don't see how this would make the ipod nano fatter?

If the stories from China about the new iPod nano cases are true, the 5G iPod nano will sport two new features:

1) a larger display--now 16:9 aspect ratio with the click wheel moved further down to near the bottom of the case.

2) a built-in camera, as noted by a hole to accommodate the lens on the back of the new nano cases.

I reckon the G5 Nano will have:

  1. 32GB
  2. Camera
  3. Slightly Larger Display
  4. Better Battery Life

Same form factor, just a simple flash upgrade to 16GB and 32GB, 16GB will be same price, 32GB will be a bit more pricier.

I doubt it'll have a camera, that will probably be left to the iPod touch.

However, there is a small chance that Apple may NOT upgrade the memory capacity on the 5G nano. The reason is simple: they need the internal circuit space to accommodate the (pretty much confirmed) camera function.

Increased memory, longer battery life, larger per-file storage capacity (sync .doc files would be nice) and expanded accessibility would be more useful to me than the camera. It's probably too much to hope for an OLED screen at this point?

Supposed casing photos do not automatically make it a pretty much confirmed feature...

I see more point for camera than wifi. Why wifi? an iPod nano is pointless to browse on. Internet radio, maybe.

Also, most signs have pointed to there being a camera.

iTunes WiFi purchasing of music perhaps. But yeah, I doubt WiFi, a camera I could see.

I don't see them putting in a larger screen or anything like that. They want to keep the pricepoint low. I HIGHLY doubt it'll be anything like a "mini" touch as that would pull people away from actually buying the touch itself.

A slight revision of the design perhaps, along with a camera and larger storage capacity is all I forsee. The big stuff will be with the touch.
