Just ordered my MacBook Pro today and it says it will ship on 29th March. Is this realistic. I'm hoping that this will be an over exaggeration and I'll get it much sooner.

What are other people finding? I'm in UK, will this make a difference?

I'm afraid the wait could be that long because i've been reading a lot of forums and ppl who ordered theirs late Jan / early Feb are just starting to receive theirs which is about a 3-4 week wait. But that's assuming Apple was unable to meet their unexpected demands.

I ordered mines on Feb 21st and it said delivery in 3-4 weeks, still no definite date. But I'm hopeful and think Apple will up its production, so I'm hoping ot recieve it a week ahead of time.

Oh, was hoping that I wouldn't have to wait as long as they said.

It is rubbish that they seem to have a 4 week backlog. To the chap who's shipping is longer than my, when did you order and which model?

I've gone for the 2.0GHz, will this make a difference?

I ordered mine on the 28th Feb in from the UK store and due to ship by the 28th March. I went for the 2.16 hoping that it would not be so popular and would ship quicker :(

I had my heart in my mouth yesterday as credit card company called as apple had put an authorization check on my card and I thought it was going to ship, but no joy. Order status still says on or before the 28th March.

just ordered mine yetserday (march 01) and i have the same "Shipped By" time as you, the 29th. and an Estimated delivery of april 5th. i think we'll be getting it perhaps a week sooner, as many people here have receive theirs many days ahead of their estimated delivery dates.

at least i HOPE to get it sooner so i can play with it before school starts again (april 3rd). and i hope it won't be DOA, that some unfortunate members have experienced. congrats on your purchase, i can't wait!

Received mine before Ship Date

Hi there, new and first time Mac owner/ recent lurker here.

I ordered the stock 1.83 on January 31, and had an original ship date of February 28.

With the free upgrade to 2.0, my shipping date was pushed back to March 3, with an ETA of March 8.

It arrived just yesterday (Thursday, March 2) morning around 11am, having left Shanghai at 2:30pm on February 28. FedEx's tracking said it would arrive today (March 3); imagine my surprise when they were wrong!

So it shipped on my original ship date, arrived before my later ship date, and as best I can tell, took just over a day to get here. I watched it go from Shanghai to Anchorage to Indianapolis all in one day, and signed for it the next morning. And I didn't opt for expedited shipping.

It's both my first Mac and my first laptop, and I've only had it a day so am still learning my way around it, but so far I don't see anything wrong with it.

There is no whine, the speakers play evenly, no lines in the display, and it does get very warm, but not so hot I can't pick it up. It was worth the wait.

If you follow the "shipping database" at http://www.schmidp.com/macbook/
you'll see most people are receiving them early, tho I've seen a couple obvious typos on there (guy in NY ordered Feb 19 and it shipped Feb 18)

I hope this is helpful. Good Luck!

It's strange how everyone that's ordered has a date of when it will arrive or get shipped. Any ideas why after 10 days it still saids 3-4 weeks? x.x it's really pissing me off.

Hello

Hey just a bit of encouragement for those of you who are looking to order a MBP. I ordered mine on Feb. 1 and the shipping date was March 8th with an ETA of March 15. But that got moved up. It actually shipped March 1st and it's sitting in the FedEx distribution center one city away. It should be coming in on Monday (tomorrow being Sunday). So they're pretty early with their shipment.

i spoke to an apple rep with whom i've made all of my purchases from. she tells me that if you order the MBP now, it will arrive within 2-3 weeks if your order is within the 10 000 order cut off. they were up to 9120 orders when i called this morning. she says that if you don't order within that 10 000 cut off, it'll only ship during the summer. she's the manager of one of the apple warehouses so i think her information is quite accurate.

During the summer???? That makes no sense.

yeah it sounds really ridiculous. but that's what she told me. and her info has always been very accurate in the past, especially about shipping times.
