Gross margin on the X is 64%. Compared to the iPhone 6 which was 46%. They make so much money per unit they don’t need to sell volume at the expense of margin. If there was another provider ala Android the phone would be cheaper. They own the segment and care much more about shareholders than end users. Despite today’s losses their stock is doing extremely well. There are cheaper phones for those who can’t afford the oled. Pretty good business planning imo.
