Indeed, I have seen many bulging batteries but this one's crazy.

Its also a little scary.

when i first saw these pics they really creeeeped me out. I dont wont tht on my lap when tht happens!!

Apple need a better system to allow them to somehow recall ALL affected batteries when they introduce a recall. This battery was made in week eight of 2006. It should have been recalled before it got this bad.

watch out! the alien's gonna latch to your face!!

so i guess its not one of the recalled batteries?

It is one of the recalled batteries. The customer wasn't aware of the battery exchange program. And no, Apple haven't replaced the MBP.

Maybe this is just an exception. Most people don't get bad batteries. Sometimes we tend to overrate personal experience as being indicative of what happens to everyone else.

Please keep us posted on the results of this. I'm assuming the battery damaged the MBP case/system somehow? I seriously might not consider getting one if the computer was damaged, and it is not completely replaced. Not knowing about a recall is not a reason to void replacement of damaged goods.

I presume the MacBook Pro wasn't damaged. As only the battery was booked in for repair. Apple have said they will replace the battery.
